Day 28, 18th September Genoa to Hohenschwangau (Castle Neuschwanstein Bavaria)
Got up early as another long day of driving and lots to see, Pete popped in to see the guy where left the car to see if he wanted any money but he said no all was good. Our first stop was Lake Como which was absolutely gorgeous from where we were driving so we decided to make our way down to the lake and have a good look around. As is normal with us we found little streets (some ended in peoples driveways lol) and drove for quite some time looking at the fabulous buildings and the lake. By the time we had looked around and taken heaps of pics we were past the road we had originally meant to be on, as a result we ended up going for a wonderful drive through the Swiss Alps it was amazing, unfortunately the weather wasn’t quite as accommodating as it rained quite a bit but I was happy I have always wanted to do a drive through the Swiss Alps. Once again finding somewhere to get food was a problem all the cafes bars and restaurants were closed we eventually found a little café was very quaint and people very friendly, where we managed to get a coffee and croissant and Julie got a packaged little chocolate cake and coffee. From here we went to Vaduz which is the capital of Leichenstein, a very small but pretty village had a look around at the covered bridge over the Rheine, Castle, Church etc and took some pics then headed to Mc Donalds for a late lunch before heading to our accommodation for the night in Hohenschwangau. Booked in walked up 3 flights of stairs not impressed as when we booked they said our accommodation was on the ground floor, then we went down to have dinner by now it was nearly 10pm had a couple of drinks then off to bed.
Tolls today was only 17.90 Euros but we went through 62 tunnels.
