Day 32, 22nd September Vienna to Budapest

Arrived in Vienna and booked into our hotel then went for a walk to a local restaurant for a lovely dinner, along the way in the distance we could see a very old Ferris wheel with carriages that appeared to be old trams. Got up early to start exploring first place we went to was St Peter’s (Peterskirche) an 18th century  baroque church and we were able to go inside to have a look it was stunning. Pete wasn’t surprised as he said there are so many places named for me and of course they will all be wonderful what would you expect. After leaving there we came across St Stephen’s Cathedral OMG now Pete and Steve have amazing churches, it’s a medieval roman catholic church that was completed in 1578 and has 22 bells its huge, Pete and Julie both wanted to get out to take a few pics so we pulled into a side street and stopped even though you weren’t meant to luckily Pete got back quickly and we were looking at the map to see where to go next when the police pulled up and when they realized what we were doing were happy enough to give us directions and wish us a nice day luckily Julie walked up just as the left. We decided that we would again go on the hop on hop off bus OMG it was actually 3 tours that went for hours we saw a lot of places and some beautiful places but it was great to finally get off. We found Vienna to be very dirty and a huge amount of graffiti plus in one part they have this massive pipeline running along the side of the streets think its for gas, very ugly and makes it hard to see the buildings, glad we came but not a place that would say I want to come back to in a hurry lots nicer places, off to Budapest.
